General Toner Refill Tips
These Brother models are relatively easy to
refill. No tools are required to do some and the others only need the filler
plug to be removed and preserved for re-use. A General recommendation with all
toner refills is to empty all old toner out of the cartridge before refilling.
This may seem a "waste" but if your cartridge is empty then very little old
residue is left. Professional recyclers would of course use an air line to blow
out all the old toner before refilling with the new powder. One way to minimise
mess is to fit a polythene bag around the filler point and shake the old residue
into the poly bag - tapping the cartridge body to release toner remanents
inside. Then seal and discard the poly bag. The refill process is aided by
shaking the refill bottle before uncapping and then the toner pours like liquid
into the empty. |
